What is a Half-K?
A Half-K is exactly that – a race that lasts .5 of a mile! The idea of a Half-K race originates from Boerne, Texas, where Blessings in a Backpack, a Kentucky-based nonprofit created their first annual “fun-raiser” on May 5, 2018. Their Half-K run had unique features such as free beer throughout the race and a coffee and doughnut hydration station for when you need to take a break from the running. At an additional charge, you could become a VIP member and ride your way to the finish line!
Half-K’s are starting to take popularity throughout the nation, and ACHIEVE is excited to create our very own Half-K race in our area!
