James Morris

James Morris was employed through Country Valley Industries for 12 years. During that time, he worked on a variety of different jobs in several locations including the Employment Center at Lester Avenue, and the Kitchen at Cutler Pond. James proved himself to be an important member of the kitchen team where he helped out with multiple duties including washing dishes, scrubbing pots and pans, running the register, setting up and cleaning up after meetings, sweeping and mopping floors, and setting up the lunch line each day.

James worked hard to reach his goal of obtaining a job out in the community, and in October of 2009, that goal was realized through James’ perseverance and the help of the Supported Employment Team. James currently works third shift at WalMart in Vestal where he has been placed on recycling and cleaning duties. This has been a great job match for James and he has received rave reviews on his performance. James can often be found cleaning the aisles late at night whistling a tune or telling a joke, and his co-workers absolutely love having him around!

James is very driven, and works hard to accomplish the many goals that he sets for himself. Recently, he completed what he calls “Operation Free Wheel Burning”?obtaining his drivers license and putting a car on the road. Nowadays you can find him working toward “Operation Project Road Hog”? enrolling in the STAR Motorcycle Training Program and obtaining his motorcycle license!

In his downtime, James enjoys playing video games, specifically Resident Evil. He is a member of Talking Hands, and loves to listen to rock and roll and heavy metal music. His motto in life: “Born in leather, embraced by steel; Born to rock, live to ride”.
