20th Annual Pin Crushing Bowling Tournament

ACHIEVE hosted the 20th Annual Pin Crushing Bowling Tournament on Saturday, March 21st at Midway Lanes in Vestal. More than 300 bowlers and spectators came out to support the event which raised more than $14,250 for ACHIEVE programs and services!

Mary Jo Thorn, Chief Executive Officer, proudly unveiled the tournaments new name prior to the start of bowling - the Bob Warner Pin Crushing Classic!

Since the tournaments inception in 1995 Bob has been an instrumental piece to the success of the event, including bringing the tournament to fruition back when he was an Assemblyman, and coining the “Pin Crushing” name that we still use today. He is Chair of the planning committee, and is actively involved in all aspects of the tournament – he works hard to secure corporate sponsors and prizes for the basket raffles, helps to advertise the event and recruits teams to play, very generously donates the gas grill for the grand prize year after year, makes sure that there is pizza for all of the bowlers to enjoy, is at each and every tournament acting as the coveted emcee, and so much more. It's safe to say that this tournament would not exist today without Bob. We sincerely thank him for all he has done and continues to do for the organization, and couldn't think of a better way to honor his 20 years of service than to rename the tournament in his honor!

We would also like to say thank you to Assemblyman Clifford Crouch and Assemblyman Chris Friend for Co-Chairing the event this year, and to Laurie Gialanella from Assemblyman Crouch's Office and Debbie Howard from Assemblyman Friend's Office for volunteering their time and talents to the event.

Last but not least, we would like to say thank you to all of the bowlers, volunteers, corporate sponsors and supporters! Without you, this event would not be possible!

And of couse, we would like to congratulate Trevor Erb who won the Grand Prize of having Assemblyman Clifford Crouch and Assemblyman Chris Friend barbeque for him and 30 of his friends on his new Gas Grill generously donated by Warner's Gas Service!
